April 28th saw the conclusion of the first round of parenting courses offered through the Parents First Initiative.  

LVfirst had the pleasure of hosting the first ever Parents First Initiative graduation ceremony in partnership with the Georgia Center for Opportunity.

Of these initial classes, we celebrated 25 graduates who completed their 13-week course with one final lesson during the ceremony.

Classes were held at Central Gwinnett High School, the Lawrenceville Co-Op, and Jordan Middle School. Classes were offered in both English and Spanish. Of the 25 graduates from these initial classes, 10 have expressed interest in becoming facilitators and continuing to partner with the Parents First Initiative to lead more courses throughout our community.

Wondering what’s next? The Parents First Initiative is working to improve and build off what we learned from these initial classes. There will be four classes offered in Fall 2024. You can find more information and updates over at parentsfirstinitiative.org
